The Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) has signed an MOU with iprosport the natural isotonic sports drink for a five-year sponsorship deal
The deal is said to be the biggest natural ingredients sports drink football sponsorship in the African continent.
Full details of the deal will be released by the NPFL Chairman Shehu Dikko.
iPro Sport Director Thomas Garrad commended the NPFL for being the first league in the continent to be associated with an all-natural ingredients sports drink and for the remarkable positive strides and reforms in the league. Thomas also paid special tribute to David Omigie and Derek Llambias for their efforts in facilitating the sponsorship relationship and congratulated the NPFL for this giant step.
The NPFL Chairman in his remarks described the MOU with Iprosport as a major breakthrough and an international recognition and endorsement of the steady growth recorded by the League Management Company (LMC) in the revival of the NPFL, improved quality of administration, the quantum leap on followership around the arenas and the media.
The chairman further describes Iprosport association with NPFL as a strong message to businesses in Nigeria to embrace the 'Buy Nigeria' campaign and support the NPFL instead of the present trend where Nigerian companies are more interested in sponsoring foreign clubs and leagues to the detriment of the NPFL. It can stimulate the economy and create more jobs through the football industry in Nigeria. It certainly will add impetus to strengthening the steady progress of our league football. Indeed, the possibilities of this deal is huge because the NPFL stands to benefit both commercially and otherwise and we are therefore excited and delighted to have Iprosport as a Partner.
